Russia considers road construction to borders of China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and North Korea

KABUL: President Vladimir Putin has announced that Russia is exploring the construction of roads to access the borders of Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, and North Korea.

According to the state-run TASS news agency, Putin made the remarks during a video call at the inauguration of the eastern section of the M12 highway on Wednesday night.

He noted that the road construction would be integrated into the international transport framework.

Putin stated, “Certainly, issues such as building access roads to the state borders with Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will also be considered.”

He emphasized that this road construction could significantly enhance transit capabilities between these countries.

China, Russia, and North Korea are considered key allies, while Kazakhstan is regarded as one of Moscow’s main partners in the Middle East.
