Widespread Cyberattack on U.S. government agencies and companies

KABUL: U.S. media reported that recently the U.S. government agencies and companies were targeted by a global cyberattack.
The Washington Post reported today that the attack which specifically targeted Microsoft software, affected federal and state agencies, universities, energy companies, and a telecommunications firm in Asia.
According to the report, the U.S. government, alongside partners in Canada and Australia, is currently investigating the attack.
Technology experts have warned that tens of thousands of servers are at risk due to the incident.
Reuters reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has begun its work to counter this attack. It remains unclear which hacking group or country is behind the incident.
The attack appears to have occurred following a significant security vulnerability identified in Microsoft servers.
