KABUL: The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, has assured transparent consular services for Afghans residing in Germany during a telephone conversation with Mohammed bin Abdulaziz, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today that the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs described the relationship between Afghanistan and Qatar as growing, expressing gratitude for Doha’s facilitative role in recent talks and progress in relations between Germany and Afghanistan.
He also stated that the next phase of discussions between the Afghan government and Germany would proceed positively.
Meanwhile, the Qatari Minister emphasized that Afghanistan holds a special place in his country’s foreign policy.
He highlighted the recent progress in relations between Kabul and Berlin, asserting that Doha will continue to play a positive role in the future stages of these relations.
The statement further noted that both sides discussed bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Qatar, the return of 81 Afghans from Germany, the remaining steps in this process, and the recent wave of Afghan migrant returns.
It is worth mentioning that the German government has recently hosted a delegation of Afghan diplomats in the country.
