New round of talks between Ukraine and Russia to begin tomorrow in Turkey

KABUL: A new two-day round of peace talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations is set to commence soon in Turkey, Reuters reported on Monday evening.

According to the report, the delegations from both countries are expected to arrive in Turkey tomorrow (Wednesday) and will engage in discussions on Thursday and Friday.

Russian state media, including TASS and RIA Novosti, have also confirmed the timing of the talks.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for increased action from Russia in light of the upcoming discussions.

He mentioned that he has spoken with his National Security Council Secretary, Rustem Umerov, regarding the negotiations.

Zelensky stated, “The requests for this round of talks are clear, the return of prisoners of war, the repatriation of children abducted by Russia, and readiness for a meeting of leaders.”

This new round of talks comes as U.S. President Donald Trump recently set a 50-day deadline for Moscow to end the war in Ukraine.
