Iranian President: We are not pursuing nuclear weapons but will continue uranium enrichment

KABUL: Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, has stated that Tehran is not seeking nuclear weapons but will continue its uranium enrichment activities.

In a recent interview with Al Jazeera, Pezeshkian stated that the claim of destroying Iran’s nuclear program is an illusion, asserting that Tehran’s nuclear capabilities reside in the minds of its scientists rather than in facilities.

He emphasized that any discussions regarding Iran’s nuclear program should focus on mutual interests, and any threats to Tehran would be unacceptable.

Pezeshkian also expressed agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons.

His remarks come amid ongoing pressures on Iran regarding its nuclear programs.
