Afghanistan and China discuss expansion of political and economic relations

KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, met with Yu Shiyong, the special envoy of the Chinese President for Afghanistan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides engaged in detailed discussions about further developing bilateral relations based on political ties, economic cooperation, and mutual interests.

Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi expressed gratitude for China’s support of the Islamic Emirate, particularly highlighting the ongoing economic advancements as a positive step toward the country’s bright future.

Additionally, the Chinese special envoy Yu Shiyong pledged that China would continue to support Afghanistan in the political and economic spheres based on the principle of good neighborliness.
