KABUL: A series of severe explosions in an arms depot in northwest Syria’s Idlib province has resulted in significant casualties.
According to reports from a human rights monitoring group, the explosions occurred on Thursday in an arms and munitions depot belonging to the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) in the Maaret al-Misrin area.
The report indicates that at least 12 people, including a woman and a child, have lost their lives, with more than 100 others injured.
Additionally, the blasts have caused substantial financial and personal damage to the local population.
The exact cause of the explosions has not yet been determined, but images from the scene show a large plume of white smoke rising into the sky.
