KABUL: The Commission for the Prevention of Land Grabbing and Restitution of Usurped Lands has reclaimed 510,447 acres of state-owned land across 16 provinces during the past three months of the current solar year, the Ministry of Justice said in a statement on Saturday.
According to the statement, the majority of the recovered land, over 372,000 acres of land located in the provinces of Nimroz, Maidan Wardak, and Jawzjan.
The lands have been previously occupied by land usurpers and have now been officially returned to the relevant government departments, the statement added.
In addition to land recovery, the technical teams assigned to prevent land grabbing have also identified over 519,299 acres of state land in 27 provinces, and another 759,823 acres of land are currently under review in 29 provinces, according to the statement.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public property and continuing its efforts to combat unlawful occupation, ensuring that state land is preserved for public benefit and lawful use.
