KANDAHAR: Provincial officials of the Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Department of Kandahar have announced that construction work on 15 cold storage facilities has started in the Zhari and Khakrez districts of the province.
According to the officials, the cold storages will be built with a budget of $200,000 provided by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.
The facilities are designed to preserve agricultural products, with a capacity to store 20 metric tons of goods.
Previously, dozens of cold storage facilities have also been constructed in various provinces for the preservation of agricultural products.
Additionally, citizens have frequently requested the construction of cold storage facilities, deeming them beneficial for the preservation of their harvests.
