WFP head praise IEA’s efforts in Afghan returnees management

KABUL: The Acting Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi has met with the new head of the World Food Organization in Afghanistan, John Ayliffe.

According to a statement from the ministry, during the meeting, Minister Muttaqi expressed confidence that many of the challenges in Afghanistan have diminished, creating a good opportunity for the implementation of development projects.

John Ayliffe expressed satisfaction with the overall security situation in Afghanistan, calling it beneficial for the effective functioning of the organization’s activities.

In the statement, Ayliffe noted that the services and assistance provided by the Islamic Emirate for returning refugees exceeded expectations and were commendable. He also assured that the organization would provide additional support in this area.

It is important to mention that both parties emphasized collaboration to resolve issues and deliver effective assistance.
