KABUL: Dr. Sayed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, has arrived in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, for an official visit.
Ismail Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, said today that during this trip, the Foreign Minister will meet with President Emomali Rahmon and his Tajik counterpart, Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
Iranian media have reported that upon his arrival in Dushanbe, Araghchi was welcomed at the Palace of the Nation by the Tajik Foreign Minister.
Details of the discussions between the Iranian Foreign Minister and Tajik officials have not yet been disclosed.
The spokesperson mentioned that the agenda for this one-day visit includes meetings with high-ranking Tajik officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
Earlier this year, in the first month of the solar year, Iranian President Massoud Bezekian also visited Tajikistan and met with officials from the country.
