Trump orders deployment of U.S. nuclear submarines near Russia

KABUL: U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of at least two nuclear submarines in response to recent statements by Dmitry Medvedev, the current Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council.

Trump in a post on his X account on Friday called Medvedev’s remarks as “provocative.”

He stated that the nuclear submarines would be positioned in “appropriate areas” to ensure readiness in case these “foolish and incendiary” comments lead to more than just words.

He emphasized the importance of language, noting that certain terms could lead to “unintended consequences.”

International media has reported that the submarines will be stationed near Russia.

Medvedev, responding to Trump’s “threats” regarding the Ukraine war on July 29, warned that any new “ultimatum” could lead to a “real war,” not just between the U.S. and Ukraine, but also between Russia and the U.S.
