KABUL: The Ministry of Public Works said in a statement that the construction work on a mosque worth 35 million Afghanis has been completed and inaugurated today in Daman District along the Kabul-Kandahar highway.
According to the statement, this mosque is one of 75 planned mosques intended to be constructed along the country’s highways based on the order of the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to facilitate travelers and drivers.
According to the statement, the mosque in Daman is built on an area of 3 jeribs and it has the capacity to accommodate 300 worshippers, including 170 men and 130 women.
The mosque also features separate parking, ablution facilities, accommodation for the imam, and a solar power system.
It is noteworthy that the esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin has issued a directive for the construction of a mosque every 100 kilometers along public highways to ease the worship practices of travelers and drivers.
