PTI launches “Unarmed Guerrilla Struggle” against Pakistani government

KABUL: The Islamabad branch of Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has announced the commencement of an “unarmed guerrilla struggle” against the government.

According to the Dawn newspaper, this type of struggle is initiated following the government’s rejection of the party’s request for a peaceful gathering.

Amir Mughal, the head of the Islamabad branch, stated that this struggle will begin today and that supporters of the party will block several roads in Islamabad to convey the message of Imran Khan, the leader of PTI, to the public.

He added that party workers will disperse before the police arrive, stating, “We aim to register our protest while protecting our workers from police detention and torture. We know that torture is the only tool of the current rulers.”

He also mentioned that this unarmed guerrilla struggle will be expanded throughout Pakistan and will be led by Imran Khan from within prison.

The Islamabad branch had previously sent an official letter to the Pakistani government requesting permission to hold a peaceful gathering on August 5 to mark the second anniversary of their leader’s imprisonment in F-9 Park, Islamabad.

However, it appears that this request was denied.
