KABUL: Syrian Army forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have engaged in renewed attacks against each other in the northern city of Manbij.
According to Reuters early this morning, both the Syrian Ministry of Defense and the SDF have accused each other of initiating the assault.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense stated that SDF forces targeted one of its bases on the outskirts of Manbij with a missile attack, resulting in injuries to seven individuals, including four soldiers and three civilians.
Meanwhile, the SDF, which is supported by the U.S., claimed that its attack was a response to artillery fire from Syrian government forces on residential areas.
They did not mention any casualties resulting from the artillery strike in their statement.
This confrontation occurs despite both sides having signed an integration agreement for the SDF into the Syrian Ministry of Defense.
