KABUL: Mawlavi Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, the Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan in Iran, has met with Jandos Hasanov, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
The Afghan embassy in Iran said in a statement today that both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening trade cooperation between Afghanistan and the member countries of the ECO.
The Acting Ambassador highlighted the available commercial, economic, and transit opportunities in Afghanistan.
The statement also mentioned that Mawlavi Fazl Mohammad Haqani called for enhancing Afghanistan’s position within the ECO and for the representation of Afghanistan in upcoming meetings of the organization.
The Economic Cooperation Organization is a regional intergovernmental organization established for economic, technical, and cultural cooperation, currently comprising 10 member countries.
