KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, in a meeting with Oleg Vladimirovich Korobchenko, Deputy PM and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, discussed expanding economic and trade cooperation.
In the meeting, Mullah Baradar appreciated the Russian Federation for recognizing the Islamic Emirate.
“The Islamic Emirate seeks to establish broad economic and trade relations with all republics of the Russian Federation and had productive engagements in this regard during the 16th Kazan International Economic Forum,” the statement quoted him as saying.
According to the statement, the Deputy PM added that the Islamic Emirate has created investment opportunities for both domestic and international investors across various sectors in Afghanistan and is committed to providing all necessary support and cooperation.
The Republic of Tatarstan can use this opportunity to invest in sectors such as road construction, tunnels, water supply networks, dams, housing, the chemical industry, and the water transfer project from Panjshir River to Kabul, he said, emphasizing the need to boost Afghan exports to Tatarstan to strengthen trade ties between Kabul and Kazan.
He also highlighted the importance of importing high-quality food products, pharmaceuticals, and technical equipment from Tatarstan, and stressed enhanced cooperation between the relevant ministries and institutions of both sides.
Meanwhile, Oleg Vladimirovich Korobchenko stated that the Russian Federation’s recognition of the Islamic Emirate has created significant opportunities for Tatarstan and Afghanistan to interact across various sectors.
He expressed readiness to invest in the Panjshir River to Kabul water transfer project, as well as other sectors.
Oleg Vladimirovich Korobchenko added that during this visit, representatives of Tatarstan’s industrial companies accompanied the delegation and are eager to initiate cooperation with Afghanistan in multiple areas.
