15 tons of expired medicines collected in Kabul

KABUL: Officials of the Ministry of Public Health have announced that 15 tons of expired medicines have been discovered and seized from various parts of Kabul.

Homayoun Mayar, head of monitoring and inspection of manufacturing and wholesale companies, said today that the seized expired medicines include 858 items, identified and collected by mobile patrol teams and the vendors themselves.

He emphasized that the collected medicines will be burned in the presence of a joint committee.

The process of identifying and collecting expired medications continues in the provincial capitals of the country.

Recently, officials from the Ministry of Public Health have urged producers and importers of medicines in the country to refrain from supplying low-quality and substandard medicines to the market.
