KABUL: Reports indicate that Fort Stewart, a U.S. military training base located in Georgia, has witnessed a shooting involving American soldiers, CNN this morning.
According to the network, Cornelius Radford, a sergeant stationed at the base, opened fire on his fellow soldiers, injuring at least five of them severely.
Brigadier General John Lubas, the commander at Fort Stewart, confirmed the information and stated that the shooter has been apprehended.
He noted that the motive behind the shooting is still unclear.
Lubas assessed the health status of the injured soldiers as “stable.”
Fort Stewart, located 64.4 kilometers from Savannah, serves as a training and deployment site for both active and reserve U.S. Army forces.
