Three arrested with 48 kilograms of opium and alcohol in Takhar

KABUL: The provincial officials of Takhar have confirmed that police forces have arrested three individuals with 48 kilograms of opium and a quantity of alcoholic beverages.
The Takhar Police Command’s media office said in a statement today that the suspects were apprehended in two separate operations carried out by the counter-narcotics police personnel of the province in the city of Taloqan and the Rustaq district.
The statement noted that two of the individuals, residents of Takhar province, were attempting to sell 48 kilograms of opium to the public.
Thanks to the efforts of the vigilant counter-narcotics police personnel of the province.
According to Noor Mohammad Omari, spokesperson for the Takhar Police Command, one individual with a quantity of alcoholic beverages was also caught in Rustaq district.
Investigations into the arrested individuals have begun, and their cases are expected to be forwarded to the judicial authorities soon.
