KABUL: Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, the presidents of Russia and the United States, are scheduled to meet in six days (August 15) in Alaska.
Trump announced the time and location of the meeting early today via a message on his social media platform, Truth Social.
He emphasized that more details about the meeting will be released later.
Meanwhile, reports have surfaced indicating that after the meeting between the leaders of the White House and the Kremlin, Trump is expected to receive an invitation to visit Russia.
The discussions are anticipated to focus on the fate of the war in Ukraine.
Previous reports have indicated that the Kremlin is demanding the cession of eastern Ukraine in exchange for ending the conflict and is asking for the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the Donetsk region as a condition for a ceasefire.
