Bid to smuggle nearly 1,300 sheep to Pakistan thwarted in Kandahar

KANDAHAR: Smuggling of 1,276 livestock has been prevented in Kandahar province, the Kandahar Department of Information and Culture said in a statement on Sunday.
According to Mohammad Hanif Haqmal, a spokesperson for the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, the sheep were intended to be smuggled through the Spin Boldak and Registan districts of Kandahar province to Pakistan.
However, he did not provide any information regarding whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the livestock smuggling.
This comes as the country’s defense and security forces are working to prevent livestock smuggling along the borders and the Durand Line.
