KABUL: Leaders from several European countries, the United States, and Ukraine held a virtual meeting following discussions between the leaders of the White House and the Kremlin.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced on his X account, stating that it focused on “strong” unity regarding priorities, including that no decisions about Ukraine should be made without Ukrainian presence.
He emphasized that a ceasefire should be a prerequisite for any negotiations and that upcoming discussions must lead to solid peace and security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe.
Macron noted that all participants agreed that their support for Ukraine would remain unwavering until a ceasefire and lasting peace are achieved.
He expressed gratitude for the commitment and determination of the U.S. President regarding these matters.
This comes as President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin are set to meet in Alaska to discuss the war in Ukraine for the first time.
