KABUL: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in a statement regarding the 106th anniversary of Afghanistan’s independence from the British colonial regime, emphasized that youth and future generations must follow in the footsteps of their ancestors and stand against all forms of occupation.
The statement noted that with the help of God, the proud Afghan people forced British colonialism to recognize Afghanistan’s independence and return the country’s usurped foreign policy to the Afghans.
It highlighted that this success was achieved through the jihad, sacrifices, and efforts of Afghan mujahideen, which continue to be a source of pride and admiration for the people today.
The statement also mentioned that following this victory, Afghans have achieved further successes in two significant battles: against the Soviet Union and later against American occupation, marking a significant chapter of bravery and sacrifice in Afghan history.
Within a century, three powerful forces have been defeated through the help of God and the unwavering faith and determination of the mujahideen, said the statement.
