China-Pakistan Economic Corridor opens development opportunities for Afghanistan

KABUL:Pakistani media has reported that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is set to create new development and trade opportunities for Afghanistan.

Zafar Iqbal, the acting president of the Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), stated that CPEC will be a game-changer for Afghanistan, positioning the country as a central hub for regional transit trade.

Iqbal emphasized that Afghanistan is no longer an isolated nation but has transformed into a connected trade corridor between Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East, significantly changing its economic and commercial role.

He noted that CPEC not only opens new avenues for trade but also for socio-economic development, establishing Afghanistan as a key point for commercial connectivity in the region.
