Russian advances in Ukraine: 1,000 kilometers captured in Donetsk

KABUL: The Russian Ministry of Defense has reported renewed advances by its forces at the frontlines against Ukrainian troops for the second time in two days.

Reuters citing the ministry stated on Saturday night, that Russian forces have captured two villages, covering a distance of 1,000 kilometers in the Donetsk area of Ukraine.

Previously, on Friday, the Russian army claimed to have taken control of three villages in the same region.

The Ukrainian military has not confirmed these assertions.

According to Reuters, the Ukrainian army has claimed to retake one village in Dnipro from Russian forces.

This exchange of territory between Ukrainian and Russian forces comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts by U.S. President Donald Trump to halt the conflict, which appear to have been unsuccessful thus far.
