KABUL: The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has announced that construction of a 120 km road in the Wakhan district of Badakhshan will be completed by the end of this year.
Mullah Noor-ul-Hadi, the ministry’s spokesperson, told Radio Omid that the rough work on a 50 km road from the Buzhai Gonbad area to the Chinese border has been completed, and graveling work has commenced.
He also mentioned that a second road, extending 71 km from the border of Broghil to Buzhai Gonbad, is progressing rapidly.
The spokesperson stated that both roads will be completed by the end of this year at a cost of 143 million Afghanis, extending to the Chinese border.
Currently, road construction and rehabilitation projects are underway in accross various provinces of the country, with many nearing completion.
