KABUL: British media outlets report that a representative of the Afghan Islamic Emirate has stated that Kabul is ready to welcome deported migrants from the UK with open arms.
The Telegraph quoted this official, whose identity was not disclosed, on Tuesday night, that the Afghan official responded to the UK Reform Party’s proposal to provide funds to Afghanistan for accepting deported Afghan migrants.
The official clarified that while the IEA would not directly accept money, it would welcome humanitarian aid to support returning individuals.
The official emphasized that deported migrants from the UK would be treated “with dignity.” They stated, “We are ready and willing to accept anyone he [Nigel Farage] sends to us. We are prepared to cooperate with anyone who can help end the suffering of Afghan migrants, as we know many of them are not living well abroad.”
This statement comes in the wake of the UK Reform Party’s recent proposal to offer financial compensation to Afghanistan in exchange for accepting deported migrants.
