KABUL: Samad Bashirli, the Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, announced during a meeting with Dr. Mohammad Fazil, the acting ambassador of Afghanistan in the country, that a delegation will be traveling to Afghanistan.
The Afghan Embassy in Azerbaijan said in a statement on Wednesday, that the two sides discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in the economic and trade sectors, as well as the facilitation of visa issuance for Afghan traders.
Bashirli referred to Afghanistan and Azerbaijan as friendly countries. However, no specific timeline for the visit of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy delegation to Afghanistan has been mentioned.
Azerbaijan is one of the Central Asian countries that has established extensive political, economic, and trade relations with Afghanistan since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate.
