KABUL: Chinese President Xi Jinping has condemned what he described as “bullying behavior” in the global order.
According to the French news agency, Xi made the remarks during a meeting in Tianjin attended by leaders from over 20 countries, including the presidents of Russia and India.
However, he did not specify any particular individual in his remarks.
It is widely believed that Xi’s comments were directed at the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump, who imposed heavy tariffs on global trade with several countries during his nearly eight months in power.
Recently, Trump imposed tariffs of up to 50% on Indian goods in response to India’s continued purchase of oil from Russia.
Currently, Xi is hosting leaders from 20 countries as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Tianjin.
