KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, inaugurated the construction of the Spin Zar commercial complex in Takhar province today.
According to a statement from the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs office, during the opening ceremony, Mullah Baradar expressed condolences to the victims of the earthquake in the eastern provinces and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured, extending the Islamic Emirate’s sympathies to affected families.
He emphasized the need for all relevant authorities to effectively utilize available resources for timely assistance to the affected areas.
Baradar highlighted the importance of the commercial complex, stating that joint investments from the public and private sectors guarantee economic growth, enhance industrial development, increase production capacities, boost exports, and create thousands of job opportunities.
The Spin Zar commercial complex will be built on 60 acres of land, including markets for grains, fruits, onions, potatoes, construction materials, and pharmaceuticals.
A total investment of 2.45 billion Afghanis will be made through public-private partnerships. Among the five markets, the grains market was handed over for use today, and work on the remaining four markets has commenced.
Upon completion the complex will create over 2,000 shops, providing employment opportunities for thousands of citizens.
Additionally, projects for vehicle sales, car washes, carpentry shops, and construction company offices have also been initiated by the private sector, with an investment of 180 million Afghanis.
