Global support for Gaza journalists: 250 media outlets black out pages

KABUL: Reporters Without Borders has announced that 250 media outlets across 70 countries have coordinated a simultaneous blackout of their front pages and websites.
In a statement, the organization reported this collective action by global media as part of a campaign organized in collaboration with the global movement “Avaaz.” The initiative aims to support journalists in Gaza and condemn their killings by Israel in the region.
These media outlets have jointly called for an end to the impunity for the “crimes” of the Israeli regime. They also demand the urgent evacuation of journalists seeking to leave the Gaza Strip and the establishment of independent access for international media in the area.
This coordinated protest marks a significant moment in contemporary media history, as newsrooms around the world have united in solidarity with Gaza journalists.
This action comes amidst alarming statistics from Reporters Without Borders, which indicate that 220 journalists have been killed by the Israeli regime during the 23-month conflict in Gaza.
