Herat traders prepare 15 trucks of food and medical supplies for Kunar

KABUL: Officials of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines have announced that the first aid shipment from traders in Herat is ready to be sent to the earthquake victims in the eastern provinces, particularly Kunar.

Mohammad Nasir Amin, head of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, reported today that this aid shipment includes food and medical supplies, loaded into 15 trucks, and is set to be dispatched from the west to the east of the country.

Amin emphasized that the humanitarian assistance from the traders in Herat will continue and will include future phases of reconstruction and shelter for the earthquake victims.

He described the recent earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, particularly in Kunar, as a “major humanitarian disaster,” and stated that the business community in Herat is committed to fulfilling its moral and humanitarian responsibilities.

Following the devastating earthquake in the eastern provinces, both domestic and international aid has been pledged to support those affected.

Additionally, Qari Ihsanullah Baryal, the governor of Kapisa, traveled to the eastern regions with a team of health workers to assist the injured from this natural disaster.
