KABUL: As part of the ongoing search and rescue operations for earthquake victims in Kunar province, Commandos of the Islamic and National Army have been deployed to remote areas that are inaccessible by road and characterized by rugged terrain.
Radio Omid reporter in the eastern zone reported today that these commandos have landed in the earthquake-affected areas to transport the injured and provide essential assistance via air.
Local officials have called for an expansion of aerial relief operations, as many of the affected regions remain unreachable by land.
According to reports, the recent earthquake in Kunar has blocked many mountainous routes due to landslides.
Following the devastating earthquake on Sunday night, the Islamic and National Army forces have mobilized to assist victims under challenging weather conditions and difficult terrain.
Kunar is known for its mountainous landscape, with remote areas nestled in high peaks, making rescue operations particularly challenging.
