KABUL: Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has directed Afghan diplomatic missions abroad to mobilize international assistance for the earthquake victims in the eastern provinces of the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, that the Foreign Minister held a video meeting with Afghan diplomats at various diplomatic missions, urging them to engage with host country officials, organizations, and charitable foundations to secure aid.
Mutaqi emphasized the need for necessary efforts to attract and gather assistance in this regard.
Meanwhile, Indrika Ratwatte, the Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), has called on the international community to express its solidarity with Afghan earthquake victims through its contributions.
This comes as the devastating impact of the earthquake in the eastern region continues to unfold day by day.
