KABUL: The Minister of Refugees and Repatriations, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, met with Rosa Otunbayeva, head of UNAMA, here in Kabul.
During the meeting, Otunbayeva expressed her condolences regarding the victims of the recent earthquake and stated that the United Nations will continue its assistance to vulnerable Afghans, according to a statement from the ministry.
She praised the cooperation of the Islamic Emirate and noted that the international community is convinced of Afghanistan’s efforts.
Mawlavi Abdul Kabir acknowledged UNAMA’s efforts and mentioned the establishment of special committees by the Islamic Emirate to assist earthquake victims.
He emphasized that international organizations should coordinate their aid with the government.
According to the statement, both parties also stressed the need for ongoing collaboration at the end of the meeting.
