India seeking to enhance diplomatic relations with IEA

KABUL: Indian media citing Mohammad Suhail Shaheen, Afghanistan’s ambassador to Qatar, reported that New Delhi is seeking to upgrade its diplomatic relations with Kabul.
The Times of India reported on Sunday night, referencing statements made by Shaheen, who is also the head of the Taliban’s political office in Qatar.
A meeting between the foreign ministers of Afghanistan and India is essential for enhancing diplomatic relations, and New Delhi is working to facilitate this meeting,The Times of India reported on Sunday night.
He added that such meetings are necessary for strengthening ties and exploring various areas of cooperation, including trade.
The report further states that India is currently making efforts to obtain permission from the United Nations Security Council for Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Afghanistan’s foreign minister, to travel to New Delhi.
Since the Islamic Emirate’s return to power, Afghanistan and India have been striving to improve and solidify diplomatic relations.
India was among the first countries to express condolences last week following the deadly earthquake in eastern Afghanistan and sent aid to the earthquake victims.
