PUL-E-KHUMRI: In a tragic traffic accident in Baghlan province, at least 9 passengers in a minibus lost their lives and 9 others were injured.
The press office of the Baghlan police command said in a statement that the accident took place in the Kotal Palfi area of the Jolge district when the minibus, a Falan-Koch, veered off the road and overturned.
Kotal Palfi is known as a difficult passage located on the highway between Jolge district and Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan province.
Baghlan police reported that the deceased included two women and seven men, while the injured comprised three men and four children. The minibus was traveling from Jolge district to Pul-e-Khumri with eighteen passengers on board.
The Baghlan police stated that the cause of this deadly traffic accident was attributed to technical problems (brake failure) of the vehicle.
Traffic accidents have become a serious challenge in the country, causing casualties from time to time. Just two days ago, 18 people died in separate accidents in Ghazni and Badakhshan provinces.
