KABUL: During a UN Security Council meeting on Afghanistan, India’s representative stated that the country supports peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The meeting, which was held on Wednesday, aimed to assess the situation in Afghanistan, Pravatanani Harish, India’s permanent representative to the United Nations, noted in his statement that the policy of pressuring the Islamic Emirate has been ineffective so far.
He emphasized that the approaches of the Islamic Emirate should receive positive reinforcement.
Harish also mentioned that India, as a neighboring country, has been a supporter of Afghanistan and has implemented 500 projects across various sectors in the country.
India is one of the South Asian countries working to strengthen relations with Afghanistan.
Recently, it has initiated diplomatic efforts to persuade the UN Security Council to facilitate a visit by Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Afghan Foreign Minister, to New Delhi.
