Chief of Staff of Army: Afghanistan is free and independent and will not succumb to political deals under pressure

KABUL: Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, Chief of Staff of Army of the Islamic Emirate, stated that Afghanistan is currently a free and independent country and will not succumb to political deals under pressure or force.

According to a Radio Omid correspondent, he made the remarks during a graduation ceremony for members of the Air Force at the Ministry of Defense in Kabul.

He emphasized that Afghanistan does not belong to any foreign faction and assured that Afghans will not allow foreign countries to dominate them.

He added, “Global powers must understand that they have left Afghanistan by force, not through a political deal. If the world wants to engage with us, it must be based on an Islamic framework. However, if they seek to exert pressure through force, we will resist that, not engage in political transactions.”

The Chief of Staff also mentioned that there has been no agreement regarding Bagram Airfield, asserting that it will not be handed over to anyone.

He stressed that the current government has the capability to defend the country and does not require assistance from others in this regard.

The remarks come in light of recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who called for U.S. military control over Bagram Airfield.

It is noteworthy that three pilots from the Air Force Command of the Ministry of Defense have graduated after theoretical and practical training and are now beginning their service in the ranks of the Islamic and National Army of the country.
