KABUL: Emomali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan, stated that his country seeks economic and social growth in Afghanistan.
Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday night, Rahmon expressed Tajikistan’s readiness to collaborate in promoting economic and social development in Afghanistan.
He emphasized that Tajikistan supports the establishment of peace, stability, and complete security in its neighboring country.
Rahmon also called on the international community to provide humanitarian assistance, particularly to mountainous regions and areas affected by earthquakes.
Although Afghanistan has been without representation at the UN General Assembly for the fourth consecutive year, a portion of the statements from leaders of various countries, including those from Central Asia, were dedicated to the situation in Afghanistan.
