KABUL: The Ministry of Industry and Commerce issued a statement today, stating that Sayed Hamad Hashemi, the Afghan Trade Attaché based in Ankara, participated in the Sixth International Local Governments Congress held in Erzurum, Turkey.
The forum focused on agriculture and included municipalities, government officials, chambers of commerce, and technical experts from various countries.
The goal of the Erzurum Congress is to foster joint cooperation in agriculture, exchange experiences among local governments, and showcase the scientific, economic, and trade capacities of the participating countries.
The statement noted that during the event, Hashemi met with high-ranking officials from the Republic of Turkey to discuss the importance of Afghanistan’s role in agriculture, introduce agricultural products, create opportunities for joint cooperation, and prepare for trade and agricultural exhibitions.
They also discussed Erzurum’s readiness to host joint programs and modern agricultural initiatives.
According to the statement, Hashemi’s participation was at the invitation of the “International Association of Agricultural Cities (AgriCities).”
The ministry continues its efforts to expand trade for Afghanistan with various countries and leverage global opportunities.
