KABUL: The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, said in a statement today that the foundation stone for a standard fruit cold storage facility valued at 35 million Afghanis has been laid in the center of Faryab province.
According to the statement, the facility will have a capacity of 100 metric tons and will be built in the premises of the provincial garden of this ministry in Maimana city, the capital of Faryab.
The aim of constructing this cold storage is to provide a means for preserving and storing the fruits of local farmers in Faryab province.
The construction of this public project began in the presence of local officials and influential figures.
Building cold storage facilities for fruits and vegetables is considered a priority for governmental organizations.
Recently, the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs announced that investors who invest in cold storage construction will be exempt from taxes for five years.
