UN, UK, Egypt, France, and Turkey welcome recent developments in Gaza

KABUL: Following Donald Trump’s announcement regarding Hamas’s agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip, leaders from the United Nations, the United Kingdom, Egypt, France, and Turkey have reacted positively.

Leaders from these organizations and countries issued official statements this morning welcoming the achieved agreement.

Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the UK, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of Turkey, Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, and the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have all expressed support for Trump’s efforts and Hamas’s position.

The UN Secretary-General described Hamas’s response to Trump’s proposal as “encouraging.” Meanwhile, the Presidents of Turkey and France called Hamas’s response and commitment a “significant step” that must be followed up immediately.

Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the UK, also referred to Hamas’s response as an important step forward and emphasized that London supports Donald Trump’s efforts.

Simultaneously, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Hamas’s response to Trump’s proposal within hours of its release.

As reactions from world leaders continue regarding the recent developments in the bloody and destructive conflict in the Gaza Strip, the situation remains dynamic.
