Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi to leave for a week-long trip to India

KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, is set to meet with Indian officials in New Delhi during an upcoming visit.
The Indian Express reported that ministry officials confirmed the trip in discussions with Agence France-Presse (AFP).
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this trip will take place from October 9 to 16, following Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi’s visit to Moscow to participate in the “Moscow Format” meeting.
During this visit, it is expected that Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi will discuss the expansion of diplomatic relations between Kabul and New Delhi with Indian officials.
Further details regarding the agenda for this trip have not yet been released.
This marks the first visit by a high-ranking Afghan diplomatic official to India in over four years. Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister is scheduled to travel to Russia in two days (October 7) to participate in the “Moscow Format” meeting, which will also include representatives from China, India, and Iran.
