KABUL: Construction of twelve water supply networks worth 58 million Afghanis has begun in the country’s northern province of Sar-e-Pul.
The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, in a statement told Radio Omid today that the projects will be constructed in Sancharak, Gofsandi, and Sozma Qala through districts of the province.
Once completed, these networks are expected to provide access to safe drinking water for 3,500 families.
The statement did not specify the funding source for these projects.
It noted that the networks will include the drilling of 12 deep wells, the construction of 12 water storage tanks, the installation of 1,624 water taps, the installation of 340 solar panels, and the laying of 72.6 kilometers of piping.
Additionally, earlier this week, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development announced the commencement of work on seven other water supply networks valued at 52 million Afghanis in Sar-e-Pul province.
