KABUL: International media reports that officials from the interior ministries of Germany and Afghanistan recently met in Kabul.
Yahoo News reported on Sunday night that Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Afghan Ministry of Interior, confirmed this meeting to the German state media (ARD).
According to the report, representatives from the German Ministry of Interior engaged in “technical discussions” with Afghan officials regarding the implementation of regular flights for the deportation of “Afghan criminals” from Germany.
The meeting took place on Wednesday of last week in Kabul.
Yahoo News, citing the German magazine Spiegel, also mentioned that two officials from the German Ministry of Interior held additional discussions with Afghan authorities over the weekend, according to European time.
Details of these discussions have not yet been disclosed, and officials in Kabul have not provided information to local media on the matter.
This comes as two diplomats from the Islamic Emirate have recently been accepted by Germany to facilitate the process of deporting individuals accused of crimes from Germany to Afghanistan.
