Railways delegation attends International Rail Conference in Abu Dhabi

KABUL: The Ministry of Public Works has announced that Deputy Minister of Railways Mawlavi Mohammad Ishaq Sahibzada and his accompanying delegation participated in the International Rail Conference and Exhibition held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas, the exhibition showcased the latest railway projects and technologies, with a special booth dedicated to Afghanistan’s railway sector.

Sources indicate that the Deputy Minister held bilateral and multilateral meetings with railway officials and technical teams from neighboring countries, including the UAE, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The spokesperson further noted that the international conference and exhibition took place from September 30 to October 2 of this year, attracting officials from over 100 countries and participation from 200 international railway companies.

Discussions during the conference focused on investment opportunities for the development of Afghanistan’s railway projects.
