Russia ambassador to Beijing praised IEA’s efforts of in promoting regional stability

BEIJING: Mawlavi Asadullah Bilal Karimi, the Islamic Emirate Ambassador to China, met with his Russian counterpart Igor Morgulov in Beijing to discuss various matters.

According to a statement from the IEA embassy in China on Wednesday, the ambassadors discussed bilateral relations between Kabul and Moscow in the political, economic, and commercial sectors.

Mr. Morgulov praised the efforts of the Islamic Emirate in promoting regional stability.

According to the statement, the Russian ambassador highlighted the importance of the Islamic Emirate’s efforts in maintaining stability and security in Afghanistan, controlling narcotics, and achieving economic progress, deeming these efforts crucial for regional stability.

Economic opportunities in Afghanistan, the potential for Russian investment in these opportunities, and the regional situation were focal points of discussion between the senior diplomats.

The statement noted that Mawlavi Karimi described the relationship between Afghanistan and Russia as positive and expanding, commending Russia’s supportive and respectful approach in its dealings with Afghanistan.

He also emphasized the necessity of understanding the objective realities to reinforce regional stability and acknowledged that the peace and stability achieved in Afghanistan benefit everyone.

Notably, Russia was the first permanent member of the United Nations Security Council to recognize the Islamic Emirate’s sovereignty over Afghanistan.
