Pezeshkian: Recent tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have raised serious concerns among regional countries

KABUL: Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, stated that the recent tensions and conflicts in the relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have raised serious concerns and a deep impact among regional countries, including Iran.

According to the Iranian state news agency ISNA, on Wednesday evening, the President emphasized that Kabul and Islamabad should resolve their tensions and disputes through dialogue.

He noted that Tehran is ready to exert all efforts to reduce tensions, promote dialogue, and strengthen ties between the two parties.

He added that conflicts and disagreements among Islamic countries do not reflect the wishes of our nations, but rather stem from the machinations of enemies of Islam and international Zionism.

The Iranian President highlighted that Muslim nations, particularly those with shared roots and cultures in the region, have unbreakable bonds of faith, history, and culture.

It is noteworthy that the military tensions and conflicts between Afghanistan and Pakistan over the past week have sparked reactions from neighboring countries and the region.

This comes as Kabul and Islamabad agreed late yesterday to a 48-hour ceasefire.
